The Topper Irish National Championships were held 27-29 July 2007 at East Down Yacht Club, Killyleagh, Co Down.

Following a meeting with the BMF, RYA and Inland Waterways Association, HM Revenue & Customs on confirmed that they would be launching a consultation document week commencing 30 July.

The BMF and RYA met with DfT officials on Tuesday 24 July who have confirmed that Ministers are committed to introducing regulations that will bring about a breathalyser for non professional mariners. 

Ballyholme Yacht Club is gearing itself up for the Hurricane Europeans from 13-17 August.

In 2003 it was a great event with 56 boats, not so many are expected this year, but the craic and social will be top notch.

Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) and the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) officially opened the new Emergency Rescue Station for Rathlin Island on Friday 1st June 07.

Transport Minister Stephen Ladyman has announced that he will be pressing ahead with the introduction of an alcohol limit for non-professional mariners.

Six boats came out to compete for the coveted trophy and both Toppers and Picos were raced.  This year we had a new winner – Katherine Law managed to hold her Mum, Belinda off long enough to take first place. 

The fourth in the Topper Traveller Series was held on 14 July 2007, hosted by Blessington Sailing Club, Blessington, Co Wicklow where there were 36 sailors competing representing yacht clubs from all areas of Ireland.
