Following the sail from Bangor to Portpatrick on Saturday September 16th, by 11 members of Ballyholme Yacht Club, over £12,500 was raised in support of the Carrickmannon MRI Unit fund for the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

Last week the Skandia RYA Sail For Gold Regatta took place in Weymouth with several Ballyholme sailors in attendance. James Espey had a great regatta and qualified for the final Medal Race.

The first race of the Ballyholme Yacht Club Icebreaker Series attracted 30 boats onto the water.

Another J/24 from Dublin Bay was 30th among 43 boats and 215 sailors from five nations at last week’s Dubarry sponsored European J/24 Championship in Poole, on the south coast of England.

17 boats with 85 sailors from nine clubs across Ireland were at Lough Neagh Sailing Club for the Autumn J/24 Championship.
